ABOUT ME – PASTOR UNDERHAY
Ordained South Florida Interfaith Minister Rev. Paul Underhay will assist you in creating the Personal, Sacred, & Joyful Wedding Ceremony of your dreams that reflects you and your commitment to each other!
I prefer to meet with you both initially to get to know you and determine what optional aspects of the ceremony you would like to include.
You will find sample ceremonies on my website that you can use as is or adapt to reflect the two of you and your commitment to each other.
I suggest that you take some time before our meeting to think about what you would like incorporated into your ceremony.
You may check out optional ceremonies listed on my website, whether you would like the Unity Candle, Sand Ceremony, or Rose Ceremony.
You may also choose an Old Testament and/or New Testament reading listed on the website or a secular poem that is meaningful to you both.
You might wish to write out a short note about how you two met if you would like that included in your ceremony.
If your wedding is taking place at a hotel or country club, it is generally not necessary for me to be at the rehearsal; the purpose of the rehearsal is so that everyone knows when to walk and to where; either your wedding planner or the on-site coordinator will be in charge of that. I will already have gone through the actual ceremony with you. However, if is on the beach, at a park, or anywhere there is not a coordinator, it is highly recommended that I attend the rehearsal. There is an additional nominal charge for me to attend.
RENEWAL OF VOWS
A Wedding Vow Renewal Ceremony is a ceremony in which a married couple renews or reaffirms their wedding vows. It is seen as a way for you as a married couple to renew your commitment to each other and demonstrate that the wedding vows you took are still considered sacred. To some couples the ceremony offers the chance to celebrate the wedding you never had you may have eloped, had a civil ceremony at the courthouse, or simply could not afford the elaborate wedding you would have wanted to have.
I am often called upon to perform a wedding vow renewal ceremony for diverse reasons. It may be you have passed through a difficult time in your relationship, perhaps one is a cancer survivor, and want to celebrate your new life together. It may be in order to have a religious ceremony if your original wedding had not been one. It may be after the birth of your child. Military couples may wish to renew their vows when the deployed spouse returns home. It often is for a particular anniversary; whether it’s for your first, fifth, tenth, twenty-fifth, or fiftieth, it is a time to celebrate your love for each other.
You may choose to renew your vows on your anniversary, on Valentine’s Day, or on another significant day for the two of you.
Often couples will include their children in the renewal of vows ceremony.
It may be the elaborate celebration you never had, or it may be a more simple ceremony on the beach or other romantic location for just the two of you or with close friends and family.
Couples who renew their vows often feel much closer together. Celebrate the years that you have spent together, the promises that you made on your wedding day, and have kept for each other, the memories that you have together. Celebrate your love!
It is always very special for me when couples that I have performed their Wedding Ceremony call me to perform a Renewal of Vows Ceremony for themselves or for their parents.
“We are so Thankful for Rev. Paul Underhay. Right from the first phone call, we felt comfortable talking with him as we prepared the details for our destination wedding in Palm Beach, Florida. Little did we know that Hurricane Matthew was on the way that weekend, but no worries, Pastor Paul assured us that he was flexible with our wedding date. Fortunately, our wedding day worked out as planned and it was absolutely beautiful! We wanted a simple but meaningful ceremony and he make it so very special. We highly recommend him to officiate your wedding!”
“My husband and I just adored Pastor Paul, he is an amazing man. We spoke with him over the phone a few time as well as meeting with him in person a few times before our special day on September 10. He was early for the occasion which is a plus. He has a great sense of humor, our guest loved him and we loved him. Pastor Paul helped to make our day 100%.”
“Pastor Paul is amazing! After Pastor Paul officiated my sister’s wedding a few years ago, I just knew that we had to make sure he would be available for our wedding. From our first meeting to the wedding day, the whole process was effortless. My husband and I met with Pastor Paul at his home on two occasions to go over the details of our wedding day. He is very friendly and personable and he helped ease any questions or concerns we had. Pastor Paul is very professional and arrived at our wedding venue early and knew exactly where he needed to be. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is planning their wedding!”
“We had not met Pastor Paul previously because we had a destination wedding. Pastor Paul was warm, friendly, and easy to work with. We liked that he made suggestions, such as a sand ceremony, that we had not considered, and it added a special touch to our day. He worked with us to choose the program that we wanted, and he made sure he was doing what we wanted. He was on time, and he took care of the wedding paperwork afterwards. Thank you Pastor Paul for helping everything go so smoothly.
“Rev. Paul Underhay made our beach wedding really great. At the age of 59 and getting married for the second time I didn’t want anything big and fancy. But I did want a day to remember. Rev. Paul gave me that day.”
“Pastor Paul was absolutely amazing! Finding an officiant was something we had put off for a while and after reading his raving reviews we decided to meet him. He was so easy to talk with and gave us so many options and suggestions for making our wedding day perfect and that it was! He spent quite a bit of time getting to know my husband and I as well as our families in order to make the ceremony so personalized for us. He has such a calming voice and mixed the perfect amount of traditional with light hearted moments in our ceremony. We would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking! We cannot say enough good things about Pastor Paul! Rev Paul and his wife on harp made our wedding perfect. Proper amount of communication prior to the event, updates prior to confirm and we knew everything was in great hands. They both arrived early by design prior to the wedding, and immediately went to work making us feel 100% comfortable and at perfect ease. They allowed extra time after in case we ran a little behind, and in fact suggested we delay the service a few minutes to take advantage of a perfectly beautiful sunset. Rev Paul even helped set up the alter best, and had ideas for our wonderful photographer Igor on some great pics. Thank you Rev and Mrs Paul! See you in 10 years to renew our vows. How about on Nevis at the Four Seasons this time! We are so Thankful for Rev. Paul Underhay.
